Voorstudie voor een schilderij waarvan ik de achtergrond al af heb.Het idee komt van toen ik naar muziek van Muse luisterend door de velden fietsend met een regelmatige bomenrij in de verte.
Het resultaat moet nog een stuk donkerder ( dreigender /imposanter ) overkomen. Om de vuist indrukwekkender te maken wil ik de bomen ook een stuk kleiner maken.
Maar als een snelle schets met vetkrijt vond ik dit al een leuk begin. De kleureffecten die ik uiteindelijk wil verkrijgen komen hier wel volledig niet uit, maar de zonne/schaduwzijde van de kruinen zijn dan weer wel leuk.
I like the schets as it is.. (I meant in terms of figures and their positions in space) Of course you are the artist and you know what sort of effect you want to ceate, but when I first saw this drawing I thought the fist had become part of nature/ or that it was natures struggle. If you were to do as you describe then the effect will be of a fist raised by mankind, as a sort of sculpture. Mankind is of course nature too and so are the things he makes. But if the fist were to become part of nature (in this representation) then the effect would be more organic and symbolic of the times we live in.

to stress that the fist raises out of nature ist conection to the ground were it sproots from could be given more green and brown. then from the herbal basic go over in a more animalistic form, with a lot of furs and reptile like skin to form the actual fist.
ReplyDeleteit could be stiking out of a battered concreat that already tarted to decompose by fungai and detritivores.
im painting now another version, with smaller trees and a more monumentqal fist. still the trees take too much atention. they should be just a tiny detail in the dinstance, and not so ovioulsly nearby.
ill scan it in when it is dry
althow some more washes should be added.
